Aisle Decor Idea for Outdoor Weddings: Fresh Flowers!

Mother of the Bride, is your daughter planning an outdoor wedding for next spring or summer? If so, the two of you may want to come up with some ideas to spruce up the folding chairs you’ll probably be using.

Fresh flowers provide the perfect aisle/chair décor when the ceremony is held in the great outdoors. Not only do they fit right in with the outdoor setting, but they add gorgeous pops of color to the sea of seats. And colorful flowers look especially striking when the chairs are white (as pictured above).

Fresh flowers along the aisle will also result in some beautiful wedding photos. Just think of all the shots that will be enhanced by this touch of floral beauty. Not only will the bride enter down that aisle, but parents and grandparents will be seated, bridesmaids will enter, the flower girl and ring bearer will make their trip down the aisle, and then, of course, before all of that, the photographer can snap a shot before any of the guests arrive. That just-before-it-all-starts shot will look so pristine and full of anticipation.

So MOB, if an outdoor wedding is in your future, share this idea with the bride-to-be. She may think it will add the perfect touch to the seating area—and she’ll be right! It will look super romantic and everyone will enjoy the beauty!

The Eskimo Kiss Engagement Photo

Mother of the Bride, are you collecting engagement photo ideas for the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. in your life? If not, start your list today. There are some awesome ideas out there. I have a few here on my site (will list a few below) and I also have an Engagement Photos Pinterest board you might want to check out.

Today I have a super cute idea for you—an Eskimo kiss shot! Such a nose-to-nose shot could either look very romantic with the eyes closed (as pictured above) or playful and fun with eyes open and the couple laughing or scrunching noses. The photographer could take both kinds of shots. They’ll probably both be keepers, right?

So save this idea, MOB. Your daughter and her intended will have a ball playing Eskimos—and you’ll all end up with another great engagement photo!

Engagement Photo Idea: Sweep Her Off Her Feet

22012408050_5d81153b8c_z

Mother of the Bride, is the engagement photo session for your daughter and son-in-law to-be fast approaching? If they are compiling ideas to share with their photographer, here’s one today that they might want to add to their list.

A sweep her off her feet shot is both romantic and fun and could easily be included in the shoot no matter the locale. The beach shot above is beautiful, but a similar shot taken at a park, in a hayfield, on a university campus, or on a downtown street or mountainside can be equally perfect. The love and fun will shine through whatever the setting.

So MOB, see if your darling girl’s groom would like to sweep her off her feet again—this time for the camera!
