Midweek Morsel: Winner and Mom Description

Attention all you chocolate lovers who entered the I Love Chocolate Giveaway 2!! Today’s the day the Godiva gift card will wing its way to one lucky commenter!

Without further ado—and because no one should have to wait for chocolate—the winner is . . . Ttrockwood!!  Congrats, T! I’ll get the gift card in the mail to you as soon as you send me your mailing address. Think of all of us while you’re savoring some decadent Godiva yumminess, okay? :)

And now for something all of us can savor. Since Mother’s Day is coming up, let’s meditate on the beautiful description of mothers found in the following quote by Washington Irving and then savor the love our mothers poured into our lives.

“A mother is the truest friend we have,
when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us;
when adversity takes the place of prosperity;
when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine
desert us when troubles thicken around us,
still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind
precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of
darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
                                                                Washington Irving

“‘Honor your father and mother . . .’” Exodus 20:12a
