Do you ever forget that God delights in us, his children? If you’re like me, you may sometimes feel like God has to tolerate you in all of your weakness. But scripture tells us that he delights in us. What an amazing truth. May these verses help us remember!
“For the LORD takes delight in his people;” Psalm 149:4
“the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.” Psalm 147:11
“The LORD detests men of perverse heart but he delights in those whose ways are blameless.” Proverbs 11:20
“The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful.” Proverbs 12:22
“The LORD your God . . . will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

This got me thinking Cheryl – I would say that I don’t remember that most of the time. But as I think about it – I would say that every blessing I receive is a sign God delights in me. Thanks for challenge
Glad it got you to thinking, Nanette. Let’s also remember that every blessing we receive is from the fullness of his grace (John 1:16). We don’t have to do anything to deserve his blessings — it’s all from his grace! Amazing truth, huh?!
I don’t remember this enough. Delight is such a pleasurable word. What a comfort to know God thinks this of me, us, His children!
I agree, Nancy. Love the word “delight”!
