"Warm Me Up" Holiday Giveaway!

I love to play Santa. And there’s no better place to start playing the jolly old elf than right here on my blog, right? :)

December not only ushers in the holidays, but it ushers in some mighty cold weather as well. With that in mind, I give you the “Warm Me Up” Holiday Giveaway!

Leave a comment on this blog post by noon (CST) Dec. 16, and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $15 gift card to Starbucks. If I don’t know you personally or can’t contact you via your own blog, be sure to leave your email address in your comment or you won’t be included in the drawing.

To make the comments more fun, tell me about your favorite time and favorite place to enjoy a hot beverage. I love to have a cup of hot chocolate in the evenings. For me, it’s almost more about the relaxation than the drink—though hot chocolate is indeed yummy :) I just love to sit on the sofa with my feet up and relax while watching one of our favorite shows. Drinking hot chocolate gives me the perfect reason not to multitask. I look forward to my own little soothing interlude.

In the spirit of warming up, let’s think about a little warm-me-up for our souls as well. A drink from God’s Word can provide just what we need. May these words spoken by Jesus wrap you in his love and comfort:

“‘Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me . . . Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.’” John 14:1, 27

*So go ahead, tell me your favorite time and place to enjoy a hot drink. Maybe your soothing interlude includes some time in God’s Word as well!

  1. While out shopping; I love to pop in and treat myself from time to time, especially this time of year!

Great give-away, Cheryl. Thanks for doing this. I might do the same;)!

  2. Always early morning! After my shower, while still dark (now), as I settle in with open Bible and journal. Coffee. Plain, simple coffee. Dark & strong.

What a kind and thoughtful giveaway. Thanks for the chance :)

  3. early morning watching the birds while i sip ;)

  4. You know I want to win this giveaway :)

I love getting Gingerbread Lattes in December, especially when I’m out on a Christmas shopping day.

  5. Drinking a hot cocoa when it’s cold outside and sitting next to my wife while she’s drinking a Gingerbread Latte :)

  6. I’m not much of a hot drink person but when it is cold I occasionally like hot tea especially with a little something sweet with it. I, also, like to drink it in a china cup. :)

  7. I enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, tea, or decaf coffee in the evenings, sitting on the sofa and listening to Christmas music! :-)

Thank you for a great giveaway opportunity!

    Hugs…

  8. I drink hot every morning no matter the season. Love my coffee. When it’s winter I drink a warm cappuccino in the evening. It warms and fills me up.

Thanks for the contest. I love your photo!
    Blessings!

  9. I absolutely love that first cup of coffee as I sit in my den and study His word. :-)

  10. I love a peppermint mocha or a pumpkin spice latte on a chilly day.

  11. A cup of hot tea at my kitchen table is my favorite pick-me up.

  12. Last summer I discovered “Bengal Spice” tea by Celestial Seasonings – Wowsa! It is The Best. Late afternoon when there is still work to be done, a mug of tea in the studio just gives me the oomph to finish out the day.

Once in awhile, I’ll put a tablespoon of molasses in a cup of hot water. It is very good, and I’m sure it must be good for me, right? Iron in molasses has to count as health food.

It is fun to see what your readers like. . . thanks for doing this!

  13. It has always been tradition in my family to make a big pan of hot cocoa on the day of the first snowfall each year. It was more fun when I had little kids at home, but I still enjoy it. (Though now it’s usually just instant instead of the homemade I made for the kids.) Maybe I’ll get to do it with my grandchildren someday.

  14. Hi Cheryl,

My favorite drink and spot at Christmas is a cup of hot fresh brewed coffee, or a tiny cup of strong Turkish cardamum coffee, and sitting by the Christmas tree, with lights all lit up in the dark. Ahhh… sniffing in too.

Forgive my awful delay in responding to your comment to, by the way. Fellow family gamers! That’s great. What games do you all play?

  15. Hey Jennifer, yes, we are gamers :) Lately when our gang is together we’ve been playing Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Phase 10 Twist, Sequence, Bananagrams, and Word on the Street. We also like Mexican Train dominoes :) Don and I are old hands at spades so our kids don’t like to play with us because we always beat them :)

  16. I think Mom’s cider (don’t remember the name she called it) back in Nixa, has been the only hot beverage I’ve had since giving up coffee 20 years ago. (If I win this – I’ll give it to Joanna.)

  17. We love to stop at Starbucks when we are out Christmas shopping. My husband gets coffee and I love their caramel apple cider. It is so hot and delicious. One year when we went to a small town in California for their towns open house. We got our Starbucks drinks and checked out all of the cute shops!
