Something New: Midweek Morsel

Change can be risky. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I’m hoping the change I’m introducing today for my blog will be one that works. And what better time than the beginning of a new year to take a risk and start something new?!

So here’s the change:I’ll continue to post twice a week, but my midweek post will now be much shorter. I’ll call it my Midweek Morsel.

These posts could be any number of things, but they’ll all be designed to refresh, nourish, encourage, and strengthen you as you finish your week. In other words, a little midweek pick-me-up. In addition, I’ll use the Midweek Morsel posts to offer my occasional giveaways so you won’t want to miss those! :)

Today’s morsel is a word of blessing straight from the Word of God. I think it’s especially appropriate as we head into this new year:

“May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” Psalm 20:4

How I hope and pray for the very best for each of you this year!

  1. Thanks for the encouragement Cheryl. I long to get my books published in Kindle and to reach others with the wisdom and comfort God has given me. That is the desire of my heart for this year.

  2. Sharon, what a great desire to have on your heart this year. I know what a blessing it is when our words can help someone else. All the best with your Kindle books!

  3. Cheryl, I like the morsel! Thank you! This year, I really, really, really want to Vlog or video blog. We’ll see. :0) I just prayed this verse over YOU, my friend. Have a blessed year!

  4. A rich awareness of God in each day . . . that’s my desire. I don’t want to miss him in the mundane.

  5. I reflect Christ to all the hurting people whose path I cross outside church walls.

  6. Oh what a great morsel! Our desire is let God be in control. Things always work out wonderfully when we let God lead us!!

  7. Ladies, I am loving hearing about the desires you have for this year, and Robbie, thanks so much for praying the verse over me — what a gift! All the best with your efforts to vlog. I will look forward to that!

Elaine, Annette, and Alicia, your desires are ones that are so worthy of pursuit. They remind and inspire me to desire the same. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Cheryl – I love the name you picked – “Midweek Morsel”. This year my desire is to finish my novel and to pursue publication. I know I need to be dedicated and schedule time to write each day. I am doing much better than last year, and I find if I take my puppy for a walk as soon as my kids leave for school, my thoughts feel clearer and more focused afterwards. Fingers crossed I achieve this goal for 2013.

  9. Hi Cheryl,

I popped over here, and immediately salivated at the sight of those cookies. Mmm! :)

Re your comment on my site, thank you, Cheryl. You too!

Nanette, glad you like my Midweek Morsel idea. All the best with your weight loss efforts this year. You can do it!

And Jennifer, those cookies look mighty good to me, too :)

  12. I hope to get the first draft of my novel going.

  13. Good luck, Vonda. Hope your schedule allows you to work on your novel this year!

  14. Love your midweek morsel idea, photo and verse!

  15. Thanks, Debbie! I hope this new Midweek Morsel feature ends up being a real blessing to all who come over to read.
