Recommended Book: Bridal Bargains

Don’t you love it when buying an item ends up saving you money? Bridal Bargains—Secrets to Throwing A Fantastic Wedding On A Realistic Budget by Denise and Allan Fields will do just that. And not only will it save you money, it will save you time and potential headaches as well.

Bridal Bargains was the first purchase I made as a mother of the bride. It alerted me to certain bridal shop practices/policies to guard against, and I’m so glad it did. It pays to have a little knowledge tucked up your MOB sleeve when making your foray into shopping for wedding gowns—or any other wedding-related item for that matter.

The Fields are nationally known in the wedding planning world for their efforts as consumer advocates, and Bridal Bargains is in its 10th edition. Every engaged couple—and mother of the bride—needs the help found in this book. Sorry I can’t look up specific info in the book for you. I loaned my copy out and haven’t gotten it back! :)

What resource has helped you keep wedding expenses down?

  1. The Fields also do a Baby Bargain book, which is updated about every 2 years. Another handy book (for later down the road) for Mothers of the Brides!
