"Cuddle Up" Valentine’s Day Giveaway!

3315856884_d912916985_zSince tomorrow is February 1st, I’d say it’s time to kick off a fun Valentine’s Day giveaway! February can still be pretty cold in our neck of the woods so how about a giveaway designed to warm you and your honey up? How about a “Cuddle Up” Valentine’s Day Giveaway?!

Here’s the deal. You supply the honey and the blanket, and I’ll supply the hot drink — a $15 gift card to Starbucks. Cuddle up with your honey in your favorite spot and enjoy a yummy hot drink, compliments of yours truly. If you don’t have a honey handy, how about cuddling up with a good book? Book lovers deserve some fun on Valentine’s Day, too, don’t they? Get it? Book lovers? Sorry, couldn’t resist :)

To be eligible for the drawing, just leave a comment on this post by noon (CST) on Feb. 14th. If I don’t know you personally, be sure to include your email address or link to your blog. To add to the fun, tell me what your current favorite hot drink is and/or what book you’d like to cuddle up with next.

I’ll start us off. As always, my favorite hot drink is hot chocolate with mini-marshmallows, even though I’ve been reduced to making it with no-sugar added Nesquick and topping it with only 7 or 8 mini-marshmallows. One of the books I’d most like to cuddle up with whenever I get my hands on a copy is Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore.

Of course, the best book to get close to is the Bible, God’s Holy Word. Why? David said it best in Psalm 19:

“The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.” Psalm 19:7-11

  1. Hi Cheryl,

Stopped by to visit with you and to thank you for your encouraging comment on my blog.

Very generous giveaway you’re having here. I’m sure the LORD will have exactly the right person to receive the blessing.

You’re a special person Cheryl with a big, generous heart. I pray blessings over you and your family and great things to happen this year for you.

    Love ya!

  4. Cheryl, I finished reading Same Kind of Different as Me not long ago an really enjoyed it. I know you will, too. It is an amazing story.

  6. Hey all, I love hearing what everyone is wanting to read. Debbie, thanks for the offer to send “Same Kind of Different…” if you still had it. I think I’m going to go ahead and order it from Amazon because I’ll get free shipping on something else I’m wanting to get if I order one more thing. Good excuse to get the book I want :)

  7. if someone else is making it, hot chocolate is my favorite.

if i’ve got to do it- a simple black tea with honey and milk will do it for me.

as for books- i have a whole slew of “important” novels i should read- literature that should make me think. but all i want to do is curl up with a silly comedy that doesn’t make me think- a kinsey millhone will do the trick.

  8. :) My favorite hot drink is a cinnamon dolce latte. Mmm! And I’m currently cuddling up with a couple of books on making money via crafting. Gah. Not fun, but necessary.

  9. My favorite drink is “Cinnamon Dulce Latte”; however, a close second is Cinnamon Vanilla Latte (oh so good!). And I’m currently reading for the 100th time, “The Last Promise” by Richard Paul Evans!

Your articles were very helpful, thank you!

  21. Hi Cheryl,
Really enjoyed reading your Life Notes – some good stuff.
My favorite warm drink is a yummy cup of coffee (Dunkin Donuts) flavored with french vanilla cream and a bit of whipped topping. I love to sit in my reading chair with coffee and the Word, soaking them both in. I read Same Kind of Different as Me this last fall. It is very good reading & very inspirational.
    Blessings to you ~ Jodie

  22. Cheryl, I love your blog and your Life Notes newsletter. And it’s so cool to see pictures of you and your family. What a blessed woman you are! :0) My favorite drink is either Toffee Nut Latte at Starbucks or Passion Hot Tea. I love any book by Francine Rivers and can’t wait for her new one coming in March. Right now I’m reading Brother Lawrence’s Practicing the Presence of God and Athol Dickson’s River Rising.
