Behind the Scenes

For those who’ve never been behind the scenes of a wedding, let me clue you in — it doesn’t happen magically. Weddings take lots of preparation. Kelli saw her bridal portrait for the first time the Thursday evening before her wedding — and it had taken months of preparation to get to that point.

Thought you might enjoy seeing some of the behind the scenes pics from our wedding weekend. Let’s just say a wedding takes a village :)

Rene, one of Kelli’s bridesmaids, helped string lights before the tulle did its magic.

Here I am, the truffle commander, giving instructions to the troops on how to arrange the yumminess on the plates :) Pictured are my niece Joanna, my mom, and Alisha, another bridesmaid.

My nephew Adam’s wife, Lyndsey, and my sister Debbie were part of the bow brigade.

And bridesmaids Megan and Alisha felt the need to garland themselves before decorating the arch :)

During the rehearsal, Dad was all smiles. The next day held a few tears, though… :)

The final prep — sisters putting on their make-up before the big moment arrives. Not that long ago, it was all make believe. What happened?!

And finally the dress. Just about ready for her groom. And I’m so thankful to have been there for it all.

More Wedding Fun!

While I’m in the midst of the regrouping process after all the wedding prep, festivities, and extended time with family, Time for Photo Fun continues with a few more fun shots from wedding day. I’m certainly enjoying sharing them with you, and from what I can tell, you’re enjoying taking a peek into our special day. Am I right? Sure hope so!

Our photographer, Will Flowers, posted a couple of teaser photos on Facebook. The one above and the first one below are both pictures of his. Great shots, huh? I’d say we have a treat in store where the photography’s concerned. Can’t wait to see them all!

Below are some pics taken by family and friends and showcase just a few of the other players involved. Right before the wedding, Kelli had time for a quick shot with her flower girl. Nikki is Jake’s little sister — and now she’s Kelli’s little sis-in-law. I think both are very happy with the arrangement :)

No wedding is complete without a Father/Daughter dance, and before Don and Kelli were finished with theirs, they managed to let loose and have some fun amid the nostalgia of it all. And yes, that’s Jake looking on, enjoying the fun but probably ready to take his spot next to his bride again :)

And finally, the Mother of the Bride (yours truly!) and the Matron of Honor (sister of the bride) stopped dashing around long enough for someone to snap our picture together. And yes, I know what you’re thinking. You’re right. I have two beautiful daughters — and now two amazing son-in-laws as well. What a wonderful family God has given me. How I thank Him — how I praise Him!

Our Baby Is Married!!

The wedding rocked! Am filled with gratitude to God for His amazing blessings to us!

No real time to write but just had to share some photos. We, of course, don’t have the photographer’s photos of the wedding yet so the one above of Kelli and Jake is just an amateur shot, but the shots below from the bridal portrait session are professional (Will Flowers). I’ll be busy with family this week so it will probably be next weekend before I can post again. Enjoy a peek into our joy!

Soon-to-Be Mr.&Mrs!

It’s finally here! We’re “going to the chapel” on Saturday!

We’re nearly ready, excitement building each day. Not only are we looking forward to the big event and the celebration afterwards, but my parents, sisters, and all their families are meeting us a couple of days early for a much anticipated family reunion. Woohoo!!

Next time you hear from me, our baby girl will be a “Mrs.”, we’ll have a new son-in-law, and I’ll be totally exhausted! :) I’ll try to post a few pics as soon as I can in between travels. Thanks so much for sharing my mother of the bride journey with me this past year. It doubles the fun to have you chiming in with happy comments.

But for now I’ve gotta run. As Elaine said in one of her recent comments, “See you on the other side of wedding bells!” (Can you tell I’m excited?!!) :)

We’ve Got a New What?

Since it’s Time for Photo Fun here on the blog, I just had to share these pics of my great-nephews Samuel and Micah when they met their new baby brother Benjamin (who is now over three months old). Watch the progression of the photos from the one above to the two below. Precious and priceless, huh? :)

And I get to see these little guys later this week when the family gathers for the wedding! Fun times! :)
