First things first. Our Stay Cool Giveaway Winner is… my daughter Kelli! No, she didn’t win the car pictured above (more in a minute), but, yes, she did win our giveaway — again. Good grief :) In February she won the Sweet Giveaway’s Godiva gift card, and now she can add a Blockbuster card to her collection. And, no, these giveaways are not fixed (truly, I always pray before drawing a name and ask God to pick the winner), but the name “Kelli” has been a recurring theme lately. My Kelli has won 2 of the last 3 giveaways, and our online “KelliGirl” won the other one. You might want to consider changing your google identity to some variation of this lucky name for the next contest :)
Winning the giveaway today is just the icing on the cake for Kelli, though. Yesterday Kristin, Kelli, and I all met in T-town for a little birthday fun for Kristin and a little car shopping for Kelli. As you can imagine, salesmen moved at breakneck speed to get to our little female threesome. Maybe because we looked ripe for the picking. Or possibly because both Kristin and Kelli are darned cute. Chances are, it was a combination of the two :)
Long story short? Kelli is now in car heaven. After driving her faithful little Cavalier for seven years — and it was hail damaged and banged up for most of that — she is now the proud owner of a 2008 Toyota Corolla. She lucked out and found one that was owned by the dealership and just driven by salesmen (only 5300 miles on it!). Kelli, I’m so happy for you! I’m also proud that you patiently drove your old car while saving for a new one. You deserve to be lucky!
The good things that come our way are really more than luck, though, aren’t they? “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father…” (James 1:17) No, we’re not just lucky — we’re blessed. Thank You, Lord!
Congratulations Kelli on the new car. I really like the color. That is pretty amazing to find a car on the first trip looking. I’ve been watching the family reunion DVD that Shawn and Kristin sent. Very fun. Thanks Kristin and Shawn.
Debbie, I’ll jump in for Kelli since I’m not sure when she’ll get a chance to check the blog. This wasn’t her first time looking for a car. She’s been looking over in her area for a long time — maybe even a year or more. It was fun for me and Kristin to be in on “the find” :)
Wish I’d been there! If I do say so myself, I’ve done very well on my last 2 auto buying experiences.
Toyotas are fabulous cars. She’s fit for the summer!
In Him,
Nancy
Janice, it would have been great if you could have been with us — I’m always amazed at your uncanny ability to find the best bargains. You’re another lucky one :)
Nancy, thanks for another good report on Toyotas. Kelli was determined to get one after hearing so many good things about them. Who knows, maybe we’ll be next when the time comes!
Cheryl,
Glad you got to spend some time with your girls. Love the car. I have a soft spot in my heart for things that go VROOM!
And, thank you for including a link to my blog. That is so cool!
Congrats on the getting published in the 2nd devotional!
Keep writing!
Kelli
Kelli, thanks for the congrats — and “you’re welcome” for the blog link! I hope it helps someone else discover your blog!
Yeah I have been looking for probably close to a year around town but they never had what I was looking for. I’m glad I decided to get it and win the giveaway the next day!
Hey Kelli, hope you’re enjoying the car. Can’t wait to see you when you come home for the 4th! I’ve got your Blockbuster card waiting for you :)
