Wedding Photo Ideas Roundup That Star the Groom

Mother of the Bride, as you help plan your daughter’s wedding, I imagine you’re spending lots of time focusing on her needs and desires, but don’t forget to give attention to the groom as well. After all, he’s the other half of the main-event couple in the upcoming celebration of a lifetime. Give thought to how you can make him feel special too.

One way to shine a light on the groom is to ask the photographer to make sure he is the star in some of the wedding photos. It’s only natural that the bride in all her wedding-day beauty will be featured in more of the photos, but the groom deserves some limelight too. Whether it’s an artsy shot like the one above, a fun shot with the groomsmen, or a thoughtful shot taken in any number of ways, make sure special moments starring the groom are captured too.

Below you’ll find a roundup of my Mother of the Bride Blog posts which highlight wedding photo ideas especially featuring the groom. I hope they’ll give you and the bride some ideas you can mention to the photographer and spur other ideas as well. Here’s to amazing wedding day photos!

Bridal Bouquet Roundup

Mother of the Bride, have you asked your daughter yet if she knows what kind of bridal bouquet she’d like to have? You two may have just started your wedding planning journey together, but it will be time to select flowers before you know it.

In addition to the beautiful fall colors featured above, options abound when it comes to the big-day bouquet. Will your daughter want something traditional like roses or will she perhaps interested in something less conventional like the gemstone bouquets some brides select now? Will she want something colorful or something in softer colors that will be an elegant and beautiful complement to her gown?

To help you both consider many of the options that are out there, I’ve put together a roundup of the bridal bouquets I’ve featured here on the blog (see links below.) I hope you both find it helpful and fun to look through these options. And MOB, your darling girl might even discover her dream bouquet. Good luck!

Wedding Cake Roundup

the wedding cake by Emmaline

Mother of the Bride, if your darling daughter-turned-bride is ready to decide on what kind of wedding cake she’d like, then this post is for you. Counting today’s, I’ve featured twenty design ideas for wedding cakes here on my blog since I started it nearly four years ago so I thought it was high time to do a round-up post of all the various ideas.

But before I share the round-up list, allow me to point out the photo above featuring my daughter Kristin’s cake. The top was completely covered in fresh flowers while fresh flowers provided accents on the other layers as well. The fresh flower petals rimming the bottom layer and scattered on the tablecloth added the exquisite finishing touch to the overall floral look. It was absolutely beautiful and oh so tasty.
