Wedding Cake Idea: Buttercream in Multicolor Balls

*FYI, I won’t be posting next week but will see you back here on Jan. 22. Blessings to all!

Mother of the Bride, even though it’s January and you may have just started a diet, it’s one of your MOB duties to think about cake—wedding cake that is. It may be the yummiest duty you have, so enjoy it while you can, okay?

I bet your bride-to-be-daughter will be happy to join you in your confection contemplations if she hasn’t already got her heart set on a certain cake design. If she’s still undecided, be sure to share today’s idea with her.

This cake covered in multicolor balls of buttercream icing (yum!) would be a fun design any time of year. The colors featured here would be perfect for a summer wedding, but if you’re planning a spring, fall, or winter wedding, just change up the color combination to fit the season—or the colors of the wedding.

What do you think, MOB—would this be something your daughter might go for? Have fun chatting about it and even more fun when it comes time for tasting!

Wedding Cake Idea for Musicians

Mother of the Bride, does your sweet couple also happen to be a musical couple? If so, here’s a wedding cake idea to share with them pronto. It’s almost certain to strike a chord with them. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist the musical pun. Hee hee!)

The staff of music/sheet music look is a perfect way for musicians—or anyone for that matter—to incorporate their love for music into their wedding celebration. The example above makes quite an elegant look and of course can be accented with the colors your daughter chose for their wedding.

The choice of sheet music can add a personal touch and special meaning as well. The bride and groom might want to feature their special song from their dating and engagement days. Or they could make it the same as their “first dance” song as man and wife. The cake designer of the cake pictured above noted that the sheet music on this cake was a song composed by the groom for the bride. Whatever your happy couple chooses, MOB, it can be a sweet reflection of them.

So what do you think, MOB—an idea worth sharing with your daughter and her beloved? Hope it proves to be the perfect suggestion for some very special couples out there!

Wedding Cake Topper Idea: Willow Tree Figurine

Mother of the Bride, have wedding cakes taken center stage in your wedding planning conversations with your daughter yet? When they do, not only will you be talking design, flavors, colors, frosting types, and cake stands, you’ll also be batting around ideas for cake toppers.

One simple and elegant cake topper option is to use a Willow Tree couple figurine. A Willow Tree couple topper will add beauty, romance, and the promise of commitment not only to the cake but to the festivities in general. It will also become a lasting memento and precious possession for the newlyweds.

Willow Tree actually offers three figurines that are designed specifically as cake toppers. If your bride and groom are interested, they will be able to choose from the Promise Cake Topper, the Together Cake Topper, and the Around You Cake Topper. Each one holds such meaning and beauty.

MOB, why not share this post with your daughter and her beloved and see if it captures their hearts. You could even buy the cake topper of their choice and give it to them as one of their shower or wedding gifts. A win-win for everyone!
