Watering Can Wedding Centerpiece

Mother of the Bride, has your beautiful bride-to-be decided what she’d like to use for the centerpieces at her wedding reception yet? If not, I have an idea for you today that just might catch her decorating fancy.

A watering can centerpiece, like shown above, is super cute and could be appropriate for several wedding styles or themes. This unique centerpiece featuring a watering can, flowers, and kerchief (or bandana, depending on your terminology) would be the perfect addition to weddings featuring rustic/country, cowboy/western, or picnic and other casual outdoor themes. As shown above in reds and blues, it could even be a great choice for a Fourth of July wedding.

This adorable centerpiece could be done in a variety of colors, too. Kerchief/bandanas can be found in tons of colors so if you and your daughter can find them in one of her wedding colors, MOB, just start from there and work up. If you can’t find watering cans in one of your daughter’s colors, just go with a standard metallic finish and then tie your colors back in with flowers in the wedding colors.

Why not show this creative and fun idea to your darling girl, MOB? Your centerpiece search might just be over!

God’s Calling Card

God’s Calling Card

In the midst of a yard
littered with leaves,
leaves dying and drying
becoming brown crackles,
God leaves his calling card
in a splash of color
a red reminder that says
“I am here, I am still with you,
I am not finished.”
For the winter to come
holds beauty and blessings
purpose and plans
always shining a beacon of hope
for the coming new life of spring.

And in the midst of a life
overrun with cares,
drowning in heartache and stress
struggling to stay afloat,
God leaves his calling card
in a blessing unexpected
a radiant reminder that says
“I am here, I am still with you,
I am not finished.”
For the crucible of pain
holds comfort and lessons
purpose and plans
glimmering with undying hope
for the blessing that’s on the way.

God is faithful
God can be trusted.
So in the meantime
let’s watch for his calling card,
his precious reminder
of love and hope.

“‘I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.’” John 14:18 KJV

Wedding Idea That Sparkles: A Brooch Bouquet!

8647912647_1194813326_z

Mother of the Bride, here’s a brilliant (in more ways than one!) idea for the bride’s and bridesmaids’ bouquets—use brooches! If your daughter wants a look that sparkles or stands out from the ordinary in some way, beautiful brooch bouquets may be just what she’s looking for.

I’ve pictured several styles in this post so you can see how versatile this idea can be. The bride might want to go with a clean elegant look that blends in with her white dress (as pictured above). Or she might want to take the more colorful approach you can see in the photos below. She might even want to go super casual and fun, as in the last photo. And, of course, you can see how easy it would be to color coordinate brooch bouquets to match the bridesmaids dresses.

A brooch bouquet also affords the idea to include a memento or memory of a loved one. Notice in the photo just below that a portrait brooch is attached to the bouquet’s stem in honor of a special loved one who can’t be present. A brooch that has been passed down through the family or that has been given to the bride as a special gift can also easily be incorporated into the bouquet.

And just think of the possibilities for the bouquet after the wedding. The bride could keep it as a gorgeous memento from the big day, or it could be taken apart so the brooches could be worn or even given as special gifts.

What do you think, MOB—it’s an idea worth showing your daughter, isn’t it? Hope you have a sparkling wedding day!

Fall Wedding Bouquet Idea

10446422813_aa067f221a_z

Does your daughter need a fall wedding bouquet idea pronto, Mother of the Bride? Time is definitely running out to select flowers for a fall wedding, but maybe this idea will appeal to your bride-to-be daughter as soon as she sees it.

Why not add a few orange lilies and gold marigolds to some gorgeous orange, red, and yellow roses? These colors will coordinate with so many different fall colors your daughter may have chosen for her wedding, and the effect will be stunning.

The bridesmaids’ bouquets could be a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet—maybe featuring a few of the roses but minus the lilies and marigolds. Those could be reserved for the bride—a special touch to make her bouquet especially beautiful.

So suggest away, MOB—and enjoy a magnificent fall wedding!

Cute Idea for the Bride—Shoes to Match the Bouquet

Mother of the Bride, here’s a great idea for the bride’s attire that will not only look stunning and fun on the big day but will provide a super cute photo op as well.

If your daughter has decided she wants a colorful bridal bouquet, why not suggest that she match her bridal shoes to one of the colors in the bouquet? Just think of the color possibilities and the sweet sizzle colorful shoes will create when they peek out from time to time. Or when the bride boldly flashes them just for fun—and for the cute photos that will be captured!

And yes, it’s okay to make wedding decisions based on the dynamite photos that may result. After all, you’ll have the photos forever. Might as well make them shine, right?

So, MOB, see if your daughter would like to color it up on her wedding day. If so, matching the shoes to the bouquet is a spectacular way to do it. Can’t you just see it now? Fun stuff, huh?
