Elegant Mini Cakes Wedding Cake Idea

Mother of the Bride, everyone tends to get excited when it’s time to talk wedding cakes. Whether they’re on the team planning the wedding or just one of the guests on the big day itself, everyone looks forward to seeing—and eating—the cake. After all, it’s the crowning touch at the party so I hope you and your daughter have tons of fun considering all the options—and tasting a few too!

One wedding cake option that presents a slight twist on the popular cupcake wedding cake is the mini cakes wedding cake. These mini cakes are completely frosted and can be detailed in design or feature a simple design instead. One style is pictured above and another below.

If this idea appeals to your daughter and her beloved, they’ll still need to decide on the exact style they want as well as the cake flavors they want to include. Of course the more detailed and time intensive the design, the more the baker may charge for the cake. As with all wedding cakes, he or she will give you a price estimate after you tell her exactly what you want. Then you all can go from there in making the final decision.

So MOB, when it’s time to talk cake, don’t forget the mini cakes wedding cake idea. Who knows, it may be the crowning touch to the party that tickles your girl’s wedding cake fancy!

Spring Wedding Cake: Cherry Blossoms

Mother of the Bride, is a spring wedding in the works at your house? If so, the wedding may be coming up within the next couple of months or perhaps you’re in the very beginning stages of wedding planning with the date set sometime for next spring. Whatever the case, I’m sure spring colors and spring ideas are springing to mind right and left. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist the pun!)

If one of your daughter’s colors is pink, today’s spring wedding cake idea—cherry blossoms—might be something she’d love to include in her big day. Nothing says spring like cherry blossoms, right? Delicate and beautiful. Pastel perfection.

The photo above is just one example of how cherry blossoms might be incorporated into a wedding cake. You might want to look for other examples, too, and then show them all to your daughter at the same time. She’ll appreciate having several options to consider.

MOB, I hope this is an idea that will work for your sweet girl. If so, time to find your baker and arrange for a tasting. That’s when things really get fun!

Groom’s Cake Idea: Favorite Professional Sports Team

Mother of the Bride, are you and the happy couple talking cakes yet? And more specifically, the groom’s cake? If so, this suggestion might help you hit a wedding planning home run if the groom decides to run with it. Do you see a theme developing here?!

If your future son-in-law has a favorite professional sports team, he might love featuring it in some way with his groom’s cake. He could request that your cake baker design a team jersey and hat cake (as in the photo above), or he might rather feature the team’s mascot or a simply the team’s name and logo on a big sheet cake. Or he might have a different idea entirely once you spark his imagination.

So grab the soon-to-be newlyweds, MOB, and show them this idea. The groom may love it—and you will have knocked it out of the park with your suggestion! Fingers crossed for you!

Winter Wedding Cake: Pinecones and Baby’s Breath!

Mother of the Bride, is your darling daughter planning a wedding this winter or next winter? If she’s getting married in the next two or three months and hasn’t decided on a cake design yet, today’s simple style might be the one she’ll love. And if she’s planning for next winter, add this idea to the list of design options she’ll consider in the coming months.

First she’ll need to decide if she wants to incorporate a winter theme in her cake design. She may not want to choose a cake that’s seasonal in design—and that’s fine. A wedding cake doesn’t have to be dictated by the season. But if she’d like her cake to feature a winter touch, be sure to share this post with her.

One classic and perfect option for a winter wedding cake is to adorn it with pinecones and baby’s breath. The baby’s breath tucked into and around the pinecones will give the appearance of snow and will be perfect set against the backdrop of a pure white cake. The cake shown above is a country chic style, but pinecones and baby’s breath will work with other styles of cakes as well.

So MOB, if your winter wedding bride wants to add a touch of winter’s snow to her cake, suggest this design. And then run out and collect a few pine cones!
