Cute Idea—Bride’s Shoes to Match Her Bouquet

Mother of the Bride, here’s a great idea for the bride’s attire that will not only look stunning and fun on the big day but will provide a super cute photo op as well.

If your daughter has decided she wants a colorful bridal bouquet, why not suggest that she match her bridal shoes to one of the colors in the bouquet? Just think of the color possibilities and the sweet sizzle colorful shoes will create when they peek out from time to time. Or when the bride boldly flashes them just for fun—and for the cute photos that will be captured!

And yes, it’s okay to make wedding decisions based on the dynamite photos that may result. After all, you’ll have the photos forever. Might as well make them shine, right?

So, MOB, see if your daughter would like to color it up on her wedding day. If so, matching the shoes to the bouquet is a spectacular way to do it. Can’t you just see it now? Fun stuff, huh?

Wedding Shoes for the Party: Sneakers!

Mother of the Bride, heels look gorgeous for the wedding ceremony, but when it’s time to party, why not break out the sneakers! Just look at the bridal party above. Cute and comfy, too. Those girls look ready for some serious dancing, don’t they?

To make it extra fun—and snazzy-looking as well—the sneakers could all be in a matching style and color. The example above shows the bride sporting one of the wedding colors and all the bridesmaids in a coordinating color, and that looks super cute for photos and also continues to set the bride apart from everyone else.

MOB, why not give your daughter this suggestion for her maids? After all, when it’s time for everyone to let their hair down and party, they might as well let their feet get down in comfy territory, too!

Wedding Day List: Add Comfy Shoes

Mother of the Bride, your attire for wedding day will not be complete without bringing a pair of comfy shoes. Whether slippers, flip-flops, or casual flats, you need to have a pair of comfortable shoes on hand for some well-timed relief from the dazzling heels you bought to go with your gorgeous MOB dress.

Comfy shoes can be worn at various times—during the pre-ceremony prep, the reception venue clean-up, and also the last couple of hours of the reception when dancing is fully underway. Guests probably won’t start arriving at the ceremony any earlier than thirty minutes prior, but to play it safe, you might want to slip on your MOB heels at least forty-five minutes ahead of start-time.

As far as the party goes, once the photographer snaps photos of the traditional dances, go ahead and get footloose and fancy free and dance in comfort. No one will care, and it will actually add to the fun atmosphere when everyone sees you unwind. Of course, only your closest family members will hang around to help with the clean-up so no worries about looking put together then. Who knows, you may even be barefoot by that point!

My comfy shoe of choice for both my girls’ weddings was my favorite flip-flops. Since they had May and July weddings, flip-flops worked great for me, but if your daughter is getting married in a cold-weather month, slippers may be in order. No rules here, though, MOB. Whatever works for you is the right choice.

So go ahead—add comfy shoes to your list right now while you’re thinking about it. Your tootsies will thank you come wedding day!

Coordinate Colorful Bride’s Shoes with Groom’s Socks!

17338797778_f8e2485e13_z

Mother of the Bride, I’ve talked about colorful shoes for the bride and fun socks for the groom here on the blog before so why not coordinate them for extra fun?

Not only will that extra attention to detail add to the bride’s and groom’s delight in the day, it will make for a great memory and a super fun photo as well. Isn’t the shot above adorable? A bride and groom who will coordinate their shoes and socks are quite a pair (pun intended!) already, aren’t they?

So show this photo to your happy couple, MOB, and see if they are up for this kind of shoe and sock zaniness. If it fits their personalities at all, they’ll be glad to let a bit of their fun-loving spirits loose through their feet on Wedding Day. Let the fun begin!

Before-the-Wedding Shot of Colorful Bridal Shoes

Mother of the Bride, is your little bride-to-be one of those brides who wants to make a splash on her wedding day with colorful shoes? If she has made a bold color choice to adorn her tootsies on her big day, here’s a great photo idea to help show them off before she ever puts them on.

Have the photographer document her splash of color in a before-the-wedding shot that will show off not only the shoes but the gown as well. Most photographers take a shot of the dress before the bride dresses on wedding day so just arrange the train in a similar fashion to the photo above. Place her snazzy shoes on the bed of white elegance created by her gown, and there you have it. A perfect photo to highlight one of the fun choices she’s made for her day to remember.

Why not mention this idea to the photographer, MOB? Won’t it be fun to surprise your darling girl with a special shot of her big-day shoes like this? Go on now. Have some fun!
