Summer or Fall Wedding Favor Idea: Jars of Honey!

Mother of the Bride, are your darling daughter and her sweetheart planning a summer or fall wedding? If so, it’s time to start gathering ideas and making decisions about some of the more minor aspects of the big day. And one of those minor issues is what to provide as wedding favors.

One super sweet idea for summer or fall wedding favors is a gift of honey. Since honey harvest usually takes place in July, August, and September, you might even be able to acquire some newly harvested honey from a local or regional beekeeper. What a treat for your guests—honey fresh from the honeycombs!

You can buy already-packaged honey wedding favors or you and the bride can get creative and come up with your own unique packaging. To buy ready-to-go honey favors, just google “buying honey wedding favors” and explore your options. Some of those options will allow you to personalize your favor. But to make your own favors from the hive up so to speak, find a local beekeeper and go from there with your own creative packaging.

Your daughter’s summer or fall wedding will be here before you know it, MOB, so why not go ahead and suggest jars of honey for the favors. You never know. This sweet idea might “bee” just what she’ll love!

Winter Wedding Favor: Dancing Socks!

I know it’s June and most people aren’t thinking of winter, but you and I both know, Mother of the Bride, that winter weddings are being planned as we speak, right? If your darling daughter has chosen a winter date for her big day, then this post is for you. Just turn the air conditioning up enough to make you shiver, and you’ll be in the mood for winter ideas in no time!

If your little bride-to-be hasn’t settled on a favor idea for her winter wedding bash, here’s an idea that might just set her feet to dancing. How about some warm and cuddly dancing socks so everyone can kick off their shoes and dance the night away in comfort? No frozen toes for your guests, right?

Grippy socks personalized with the bride’s and groom’s name and wedding date—and in the colors of the wedding, of course—are not only a fun memento from the wedding but are practical as well. Just do a google search of “personalized socks for wedding favors” or “personalized wedding socks” and you’ll find several ideas and options to choose from.

Why not pass this idea on to your daughter and see if she gets a little dance fever? Just be prepared to kick off your shoes and have fun, MOB!

Blogging Break Plus Favor Help for Winter Weddings

24070092502_3c7c6eec75_zMy summer has been jam-packed, Mothers of the Bride, so I’m taking a blogging break until after Labor Day. Summer is busy for everyone, but launching my book Mother of the Bride and becoming Grandma to another set of twins has taken busy to a whole new level in my life. And if anyone understands busy, I know you will, MOBs!

But never fear, when I take a break, I always try to leave you with some help. Since those of you helping your daughters plan winter weddings have probably reached the stage where you’re beginning to think about favor ideas, I thought I’d share some favor help this time.

I hope the links below, MOBs, lead you to the perfect favors for your upcoming winter weddings!

Wedding Favors: A Boxed Surprise

1460380375_95320fc06d_z

Mother of the Bride, you and your sweet girl may have more important things on your minds right now than wedding favors, but the topic will come up before you know it.

Why not be prepared and jot down favor ideas as you see them. Or if you haven’t done so yet, you could create a wedding board on Pinterest and save your ideas that way. I have one especially for Wedding Favors so you might want to pop over and take a look while it’s on your mind.

One fun idea is offering the guests a boxed surprise. Guests will enjoy discovering the treasure in their individual little gift boxes, and you could even add an additional element of surprise by having multiple possibilities. One guest might find dark chocolates filled with chocolate while another finds milk chocolates filled with raspberry cream, etc. Or you daughter might like to go with something entirely different from chocolate. It’s her party. She gets to choose!

I also love the little boxes pictured above with the various color ribbons and styles of applique rather than bows, but other sizes, shapes, and décor for boxes are available where you find wedding supplies. Again, the bride will have fun making this choice.

What do you think, MOB? Is this an idea your daughter might like? You’ll never know unless you ask—so ask away!
