**I will be taking a blogging break until mid-August. See you back here then!

Several years ago I wrote an acrostic as a refresher for the theme word I chose that year, and I soon decided it was an exercise I would benefit from each year.

For me, the creative exercise of writing acrostics is an excellent way to go deeper in my consideration of my annual theme words. Doing so helps me think of different aspects of the word.

I hate to admit it, but I sure needed the refresher this year. Not because I haven’t been trusting God (trust is my 2025 theme word), but because I couldn’t remember which word I chose when I sat down to write the acrostic. Good grief, right? In my defense, my failure to remember probably has a lot to do with the current demands on my life, time, and yes, my brain power. A person can only do, manage, and remember so much. Can I get an amen?

So as I remind myself of and reflect on trust, I pray you are blessed and inspired to trust God completely as well. If you chose a theme word of your own this year, maybe reading this creative exercise will inspire you to do something similar with your word. Whatever the case, friends, may you be blessed as you read!

Trust

Talk to God daily and tell him about all that concerns you.

Rest in the knowledge that God knows the future and will bring about what is best.

Urge yourself not to worry but instead keep your eyes on the Lord.

Sing songs of praise and worship daily, expressing your faith out loud.

Take God at his word and believe in his promises.

If you didn’t choose a theme word for the year, I’d be happy to have you join me in focusing on trust. God may use it to grant us peace or to challenge us or to do both. And we can rest assured that trusting God will be the best path we can take.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
