Midweek Morsel: "I Love Dessert" Giveaway!

This week’s morsel is an especially yummy one. February arrives on Friday, and I’m already thinking about Valentine’s Day. And, of course, Valentine’s Day calls for some sort of sweet giveaway :)

How about an “I Love Dessert” Giveaway?! One lucky commenter will win a $20 gift card to a decadent dessert mecca—The Cheesecake Factory! Just leave a comment on this post by noon Feb. 13 (CST), and you’ll be entered to win. If I don’t know you personally or your email address is not available via your blog, be sure to leave your email address in your comment or you won’t be eligible to win.

To make today’s Midweek Morsel spiritually refreshing, would some of you share your own morsel from the Word of God in your comment? What verse has meant a lot to you at some point in your life? I’ll close with one here and then watch for your comments. Can’t wait for the morsels you serve up!

  1. I like Cheesecake Factory! Since it is the month of love the Bible verse I associate with love and the verse I have known the longest is John 3:17 For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son and whoever believes in Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life.

  2. Jeremiah 31:3 “I have loved with an everlasting love, therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.” This verse assures me of God’s love.

  3. i John 3:1
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!

  4. All of Psalm 62 has proved itself over and over in my life. I love verses 5 and 6: “Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.”

  5. Zephaniah 3:17 says “The Lord is with you always. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love. He will sing songs of rejoicing over you.”
I love the thought of our God singing over us today! :) Bless you Cheryl!

  6. Isaiah 41:10

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

  7. Don’t laugh, but I have never been to the Cheesecake Factory, and I love cheesecake!! HaHa.

Phillippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

  8. I have the same verse at Kristin! Isaiah 41:10 has kind of been my “life verse” for going through difficult seasons in my life.

  9. Cheryl,

Yum, what a great idea. Count me in for the giveaway. One verse that has been important to me now is Prov. 31:11,12. I am memorizing it and working for that in my own life.

Re your comment on my post “Slip Into Some Quiet,” soaking in nature, seeing God’s hand in it, and of course, naps! :) I agree.

  11. I’ve only heard good things about the Cheesecake Factory. Brings to mind James 1:17 – “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” Hmmm, does God own the Cheesecake Factory?

Then, when I think about really good food like cheesecake, I remember John 3:30 – “He must increase, but I must decrease.

  12. Of course, sign me up. As for a treasured portion of Scripture, well just this morning I ran across one I hadn’t focused on in the past; honestly, I don’t ever remember reading it before, but it struck a chord in me (still working it out in my head). From Numbers 33:1-2…

“Here are the stages in the journey of the Israelites when they came out of Egypt by divisions under the leadership of Moses and Aaron. At the LORD’s command Moses recorded the stages in the their journey. This is their journey by stages:”

There’s something about this idea of chronicling these “stages” that brings hope and understanding to my heart.

    For what it’s worth . . .
