Blessing One Another in the New Year

Happy New Year, everyone!! I hope you soaked up every last ounce of Christmas joy over the past couple of weeks and are ready to start the adventure of a new year.

If you’re like me, you probably feel the need to take a deep breath after the holidays and regroup a day or two before heading full-steam into the opportunities and challenges that a new year holds. So to that end, I thought we might dedicate this post to blessing one another as we turn the corner into 2012.

My hope is that when you visit my blog you’ll be blessed every single time. Genesis 18:5 sums up my desire very well: “Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way—now that you have come to your servant.” My prayer is “O Lord, ‘Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.’” (Deuteronomy 32:2)

Do you have a scripture, a prayer, a quote, or maybe a word of encouragement to offer the rest of us? Has God used something to encourage, strengthen, or inspire you at some point and now you’d like to pass it along to others? Please share it in the comments and let’s bless one another as we walk into 2012!

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

  1. For 2012 may we all tuck deep within our hearts,

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

    Blessings and Happy New Year!

  2. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow” Hebrews 13:8

    Blessings!

  3. “Be anxious for nothing but in all things with prayer and supplication let your request be known to God and the peace of God which surpasses understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:6-7

  4. Nancy and Debbie – those are the scriptures that have held me through the difficult moments of 2011. I’m glad those words will stand for 2012 and the rest of time as well.

  5. Ladies, I’m loving the encouraging words you all are sharing! The most powerful and life-changing quotes come from the Word, don’t they?

Kristin, thanks for sharing how these very scriptures have held you through difficult times — and for your testimony of faith that these words will continue to stand. A powerful word in itself!

  6. As you know, I wrote about it in my post today. My meditation for the year is “Movement Wins” based on Paul’s letter from Philippians 3:12-14. I don’t know what’s in store for 2012, but I know that with each step taken, God takes it with me!

It’s good to turn the corner with fresh perspective.

    Take good care, Cheryl!
