Midweek Morsel: Seasons Declare God’s Faithfulness

IMG_3470God’s faithfulness is proclaimed and evidenced throughout scripture. In Genesis, the first book of the Bible, one of the first such proclamations is recorded. God said:

“As long as the earth endures,
Seedtime and harvest,
cold and heat,
summer and winter,
day and night
will never cease.” (Genesis 8:22)

Because of God’s faithfulness, we can count on the seasons. We can count on spring after winter. We can count on God.

*How have you seen God’s faithfulness demonstrated lately?

*I took the above photo a couple of weeks ago. The evidence of the coming spring is even greater now. Thank you, Lord!

  1. God’s faithfulness – in the past week we have had some changes in our family and I have seen God’s hand on the situation guiding us along. God is so good! Peace is being restored and we are moving forward.

    • Nanette, thanks so much for sharing a testimony of God’s faithfulness during a time of change. He is always faithful, isn’t He? May God continue to guide and give you all peace!

  2. Since I’m not a cold-weather fan, I am encouraged by the confidence of upcoming change to the next season. I’m also comforted by the fact that seasons of life change as well. It’s our responsibility to adjust to whatever season we’re in, and take confidence in our ability to handle each season as we trust in Him. Thanks for the reminder, Cheryl!

    • Vonda, I don’t like cold weather either so am more than ready for a change of season, too. And thanks for mentioning the change of seasons in our lives. I’ve been in a different season for the past few months, and I know you’re in an unusual season right now, too. So good to know that God walks with us and guides us through each one!

  3. Yay, you have buds! We don’t have that yet here, but I think the robins are due in any day now, and I was just teaching my youngest and I to recognize their bird calls. Soon….

How is your writing going? How are you? What have you been reading lately?

    • Yes, Jennifer, we have buds — but we also have a snow storm this weekend! Crazy :)

Life has been super busy for me the past few months between Don’s recuperation and then new twin grandbabies to travel to see and help take care of from time to time. Am loving that! :) Just got back from several days with them in fact.

Writing wise, I’ve been doing good to keep up with blogging, sending out Life Notes, a few submissions here and there, and researching markets for other possible book publishers. Haven’t been reading anything that I’m super crazy about so would rather not say, though I did really enjoy Jody Hedlund’s new novel Love Unexpected.

Hope you are doing well, Jennifer!
